Jack Kernan is a promising defenseman for the University of North Dakota Hockey team, known for his steady presence on the back end and high hockey IQ. A native of Duluth, Minnesota, Kernan arrived on the UND campus in 2025 as a freshman, stepping into one of college hockey’s most intense and tradition-rich environments.

Kernan brings a smart, responsible game to the blue line — making clean exits, staying positionally sound, and showing flashes of offensive upside. He developed through Minnesota’s competitive prep system and later played in the USHL with the Sioux Falls Stampede, where he proved himself as a reliable, minutes-eating defenseman.
